First of all, a peaceful protest is one thing. In holding a peaceful protest you can chant and dance all you want but when you do stupid things like "periodically blocking traffic by laying in the street", it becomes more than a peaceful demonstration and sorry to say but before you protest maybe you should read the laws on holding a demonstration because you CANNOT stop traffic among other things.
Yes I believe the Border Patrol is a complete joke myself and have no idea why our tax money is paying their salaries. Mexicans as well as any other immigrants coming to America illegally are exactly that "illegal" therefore they do DO NOT have the same rights or liberties that American citizens have. We need stricter laws and punishments for "illegal aliens" to deter their wanting to try to commit the crime of crossing US borders illegally. I believe illegal immigration is becoming a huge problem and think we should bring our troops overseas home and focus on all borders/ports to keep ANYONE who isn't a US citizen or here for legitimate reason OUT! Myself being a former US Army soldier would feel much more justified in defending our borders against terrorism, to include illegal immigration.
These volunteer organizations are simply trying to help pick-up slack that the Border Patrol isn't taking care of and yes they may get out of hand, but the fact is people are commiting crimes by crossing US borders illegally and if they get roughed up by people trying to stop them, tough shit! US citizens who commit crimes get roughed up and killed daily by police, why the hell would someone who isn't American get special priviledge? I would shoot an illegal in a heart beat if I felt that my life or someone elses life was in danger.
In closing, the US needs to focus their efforts on fixing this HUGE growing problem by placing stricter laws and punishments against violators!
